Creative Writing Competition Virtual Awards Ceremony and Launch of publication

The highlight of Athlone Castle’s Cruinniú na nÓg events will be the live streaming of a virtual ceremony during which the winners of the Creative Writing Competition will be announced, and the ‘Olaf and Hugh’s Adventures at Athlone Castle’ publication will be officially launched online by the John Broderick’s Writer in Residence, Keith Payne and Caroline Coyle, Poetry in the Park.

All the finalists will be invited to read their works during the ceremony.

This event is supported by Creative Ireland and Westmeath County Council.

Terms and conditions

  • This is a live Zoom event with both camera and microphone functionalities turned on for all children and invited guests. However, if you do not want your children to appear on camera, it can be switched off, which will not affect the ability to participate actively.
  • To protect privacy of the children, photography and/ or video recording is strictly prohibited.
  • We request that a parent or guardian is present at all times during the Ceremony.
  • This Awards Ceremony and Launch of Publication is recorded and monitored by the organiser for safety and quality only.
  • A Zoom link will be sent to all those who entered the competition and the winners before the event.
